So I'm a week and a half late to pay off on my tease post. You people are used to that by now, right?
The things I'm announcing are the reason for the silence. This is the first time I've been able to sit down at a computer and do anything for my own edification in days.
The big, big announcement: I got a new job! I started this week, and it's been a week of getting up to speed with my new gig and (hopefully) making a substantive contribution right off the bat. I'm doing business development and marketing type stuff. Mostly that means I'm going to be spending much of my time writing and editing, which pleases me greatly.
The other announcement: I'm in not one, but two shows right now. First up is Assassins, which opens on Friday. I'm playing the Proprietor, which means I've got the opening song and I'm in the penultimate one. I don't get to rest inbetween, as I'm onstage quite a bit throughout. Come see it if you can. It's gonna be very good.
The second show is 1776. It's the second time I've done the show, the last time being ten years ago with this very same group, the Vienna Theatre Company. Last time out I was Richard Henry Lee. Seems I'm typecast as a Virginian... I'm Thomas Jefferson this time. Anyone who knows me at all knows that this thrills me no end.
So there's the announcements. With Hell Week for Assassins and week two of the new job, I don't expect to be around much through next week at least. Hopefully I'll have a few worthwhile stories to tell when I get back.
